The Pineywoods Detachment morns the loss of a Marine who was at every function - every meeting, every fundraiser, and certainly at every Marine Corps Birthday Ball. Bryan went to his reward on January 17, 2009.
Bryan was born in Hannibal, Missouri on September 10, 1923. His parents were Henry Bryan and Leola (Leitz) Hatten. From 1942 to 1946, Bryan served in the United States Marine Corps (World War II) and was stationed in the South Pacific (Solomon Islands), the Phillipines, and China, attaining the rank of SSgt. He was recalled to active duty from 1951 to 1952 deployed to Korea during the Korean Conflict.
