CITATION
Distinguished Service Medal
For
Dennis Bradford
Dennis Bradford is a charter member of the Pineywoods Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He has served as Junior- and Senior-Vice Commandant, serves on numerous committees, and consistently takes on additional duties, always keeping the best interests of the Detachment at heart. He is the first member of the Pineywoods Detachment to accept duties at the Department of Texas, and currently serves as the Vice Commandant for District 2, which consists of eight detachments and encompasses Angelina County northward to the Oklahoma state line, and from Dallas eastward to the Louisiana border.
Bradford also established, and serves as the editor of the Pineywoods Poopsheet , the Detachment's newsletter. Last summer at the state convention, the Detachment received a Department of Texas Meritorious Unit Citation for effort "above and beyond," based largely upon Bradford 's efforts.
Bradford always devotes himself to activities in which the Detachment participates, whether to man the booth everyday of the Pineywoods Fair, attend services honoring Marines, organize officer training, publish the Detachment newsletter, work tirelessly on the Marine Corps Birthday Ball, support the Veteran's Day Parade, or attend the State Convention. He consistently supports the Detachment.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Bradford for his outstanding and generous service to the Pineywoods Detachment, the Department of Texas, the Marine Corps League, the United States Marine Corps, and the United States of America .
It is with great pride that we present to Dennis Bradford the Distinguished Service Medal - Bronze.
